Saturday Gira

Last Saturday I went to a rainforest in Costa Rica right outside of the city Turriaba, which is the name of the number one cheese they use around here... but its kindof a bland cheese. So in this rainforest we went on a tour and saw where indigenous people constructed sacrificial tombs and laid their houses in the village. One cool plant our tour guide showed us was a pepper plant and if you rubbed the leaves in your hand and then rubbed the moist on your arms, it was mosquito repellent.
Afterwards, we went to see the oldest church in Costa Rica. Unfortunately it was in ruins but it was still very pretty and interesting to see. Then we went and visited the second oldest church in Costa Rica. This church is very popular for weddings, in fact, when we got there, there was a wedding going on! Apparently, its a beautiful church to have your wedding in but i'm not sure I would want my wedding there! The outside I thought was very beautiful though because it was surrounded by gardens of hydrangeas. The waiting list for a wedding there can be up to one year. If you want to get married there, you have to wait a while!

Church in ruins, but still beautiful

Michael the Archangel (statue looks like a girl)
Garden of hydrangeas surrounding a beautiful stone fountain
Very pretty on the outside!
